What made you decide to do a traineeship as an IBMA (Industrial Business Management Assistant) at steute?
I opted for an IBMA traineeship because I am very interested in commercial processes and economics, but also wished to gain practical experience. At steute, I particularly liked the fact that the trainees move through various departments, resulting in comprehensive knowledge of how the company works. Even during the application process, I had the feeling that huge importance is attached to good cooperation and solid training.
Why did you decide to take on new tasks and actively push yourself further during your traineeship?
I think it is important not only to learn the traditional contents of a trainee programme, but also to assume responsibility and bring your own strengths to the table. During my traineeship, I was able to familiarise myself with many business processes, such as the creation of offers in Sales, the processing of orders in Purchasing, and various supporting tasks in Accounts. I also opted to become involved in the recruiting process, and to play an active role in developing new areas, such as social media.
Why did you take on responsibility in the area of social media?
My involvement in social media at steute started with our supervisor asking another trainee and me if we could imagine assuming some responsibility in this area. We said we could, and began by managing the steute Instagram account. We later integrated TikTok in our company communication channels with our supervisor, and have regularly been creating and posting on this platform ever since. The fact that we were given this responsibility as trainees shows how steute is prepared to trust us, and this is extremely motivating.
What enabled you to turn to your colleagues for help when you had a question or faced a challenge?
From my very first day, I got to know steute as an exceptionally open and supportive environment. My supervisors and colleagues take the time to answer questions and explain contexts clearly. Many colleagues even come to me of their own accord and ask how I am doing, or if they can help me. This creates a basis of trust and makes the working day so much easier.
Why would you make the same decision again, opting for a traineeship at steute?
The traineeship is very varied here, and you are not left alone. You move through different departments, collect valuable practical experience, and all the while you are looked after. If you feel challenged, there is always somebody you can ask. That makes you feel like you belong, and also prepares you for your later career.
What do you particularly like about your traineeship at steute?
I particularly like the close working relationships in the company and the friendly atmosphere. Even though steute is growing all the time, interactions between colleagues are still personal and appreciative. I also really value the way that trainees are taken seriously here and encouraged to play an active role – including taking on extra tasks in areas such as recruiting or social media. This is what makes a traineeship at steute for me so attractive.
